Thought I'd Introduce Myself

Evening All

 

New to Gibraltar so I thought I'd drop in here to see what's what in the local 4x4 world.

 

You may have seen me pootling around Gib in the 10 days since we arrived, I've brought with me "The Colonel", my 1996 300TDi Discovery, You can't miss it - it's blue with various fittings painted orange (interior to follow soon). I left my 1994 RRC 300TDi Soft Dash back in the UK for when we make the trips home.

Been a land rover enthusiast for a wee while now and have been involved in several clubs (Aylesbury, DTC, Landytown and Wessex Hillrunners), so I'm looking to get out and about to see what the region has to offer. Mainly interested in Green-laning, with the occasional bit of pay'n'play - but I'm not an out and out "lets go break a half shaft" off-roader - I leave that to those who can afford it.

 

So, knowing that your all out enjoying a barby this evening, when is the next club meet/laning trip?

 

Look forward to meeting up - have seen plenty of club stickers around the rock.

Welcome etc.  Do you work in Gib, or have a posting there?  I'm in the UK (Wiltshire... Swindon) and am yet to get over there and go for a bimble up in the mountains in my 110... but one day!

The good lady wife serves HM, I'm a house husband who follows the flag. So it's two years of Med life for us before we make our way back to the UK. In the meantime I may be doing a little work (if the right opportunity presents itself) or carry on raising the two little'uns as I have been for the past 4 years.We'll see.

 

Have made a note of club night (now need to find where Lions FC is? I'm at Four Corners) so I'll make sure I have that night free.

 

Since you're back in the UK Jamie - do you use any forums? My username on all that I'm registered on is Snaplegs. I mainly frequent Landytown.com and LRS but I'm registered on quite a few.

Yeah, i'm on a few forums, as diesel_jim. I've seen your username around afew times. I'm usually on defender2, LRO, LRScene and devon4x4. used to be on innovate and LR4x4 but left those.

 

My parents have a place in Tarifa, which is about half an hour SW of Gib, lovely town. Hence why i joined the Gib4x4 group.... They're a great bunch of blokes on here!
