We all know that there are different tires for different sitiuations - all terrains, mud terrain - even extreme terrain tires. But what in your oppinion are the best tires for what WE AS A CLUB use them...

In our trips we vary our driving over a year from sahara desert sand dunes to mountain ranges in spain & morocco all the way to extreme mud in 4x4 circuits.

If you had to buy a new tire considering everything we do in a year - what would they be and why?

Tyres are the clue for your vehicles performance and ofcourse it all depends what terrian you are driving on.Doing all the different terrians we do around the year it would be very costly to have tyres for all events so I would recommend All Terrians which from experience I can say they do cope with all different situations, all you need to do is apply the perfect pressure on your tyres for better performance in different terrians and situations.

I through my experience I would use BFGoodrich Allterrians for the reason of its durability and performance,I have been using for a very long time Mud Terrians but you just eat them up on the road, they could last me up to 2 years of heavy use,its durability is great if you use it only for the tracks and have a second set of road tyres.

cooper STT,s are a good all rounder bit chunky but a good tire,,,,,
JUST HAD A MESSAGE FROM MY SUPPLIER,,,,,DROPPED PRICES FOR INSA REMOULDS 235X85X16 SAHARA REMOULD,,,,,£85 PLUS POSTAGE,

NOT SURE HOW LONG THESE PRICES WILL LAST,,,

I have just bought BFG all terrains for my Land Rover Disco after using a second hand set on my wife's car for about 2 yrs now!!! they had been totally thrashed by the owner before me but have a triple walled construction with a nice lug on the track edge for when your off road.  I have used them (on the missus car) with guys on Mud Terrains and still got there! (at Armatur Finca!)  But what really sold me on the BFG A/T's was the instance at the Campamento (Liddle) roundabout, in the wet, when some 'looney bin' cut across me causing me to adopt a bit of evasive driving, as I thumped the brakes and turned the car, I could feel the tyres 'fighting' the tarmac for purchase, they held that day and got my two kids (in the back) home safely.

If I had the money - I would have these and give a real extreme off roader (simex jungle?) a go as a second set only for play days... they say (I'm no expert) the better off road, the worse a tyre on road, & visa-versa, but the BFG A/T chalenges that theory, and for me it's standing it's ground...

In summary (for me) the ones on my wifes car must be knocking on 4-ish? years old, still with loads of life left in them! great on the rough, great on the tarmac, and just unbelivable durability - bullet proof!

Thanks for your comment Sean,it sure puts experience into words ;@)
