I think they have destroyed what is the landrover defender - mixing it up with a rangerover sport? Horrible!!!

Yes what they are trying is to econmise on fuel consuption but more power even if the engine is smaller on cc but will sure have longer range on the gears like what they did to your and Wilfred Montero DID,which has less horse power but more faster on long runs and more economical fuel consuption.

My Toyota is a 4.2 litre and does max of 180 kmph,

The Montero is a 3.2 litre and does 220 kmph.

Thats what was new when this model came out on the market,the intelligent gear box they used to call it.The actual gear box gets to know how the driver drives and makes a program for each driver.

well this is going to be interesting,,,, yes i do like the concept,,,,,i like the new shape,  ,,,,,,but it has to cut the mustard ,  ,,loose the silly wheels and get some off road tires there has to be a LWB model and a hi cap model,,,and dont make it to,electronically dependant,,,build in some maintanance,,  ,,,must admit i like what land rover are doing,,there dragging them selfs into the 21st century,,,,,and thats how its going to be,,,,the day of the old land rover will never be the same again,,,,so embrace what you have and look after it you aint going to see it again,,,

utterly utterly horrid -LR what are you doing? there is enough 'fan dangle' in the new Disco's & Rangies but don't completely break your ties with a true / real 4x4! what a SAD day...

(it looks like my mates short wheel base Mitsi! - which is a great car by the way - but a Defender it is not...)
