GBC OPEN DAY

   On our last meeting we commented on doing some sort of charity work in Gibraltar and some people suggested in doing something on the GBC Open Day,well you could all contribute in ideas and post it here.

Gino has an idea which I would like him to post himself,I would really go ahead with his suggestion but others members ideas are welcomed.

well brothers here it goes,my idea of doing something for gbc open day,yesterday i was in eastern beach in the afternoon,i was completly alone in the beach,with my children,i was at the very end were the run way is.i was looking towards the latinos,and the beach looked really long,and it automatically came to my head. why dont we do something for gbc open day here in the beach,we good ask local contractors to do us some sort of circuit with the help of diggers or jcbs,and then get any one in gib with off roads cars,to join us.we could charge twenty pounds for each car,and who knows maybe we could get permission for a whole weekend.lol my girl friend works in gbc so she can ask her boss for help,permission wise,and we could even get to do a massive bbg for every one to enjoy.alfred we could even invite paco and his friends from amelgi,and make this our weekend off road outing in our own land,what do you guys think,imagine every body watching us what a big publicity.

There are good ideas all around but I think we should keep it short and sweat, everyone must be thinking what iis short and sweat well here is my suggestion lol we should do a stand( example piazza) which will give the club promotion, try and go around people we know in shops travel agents ect and try and get gifts for (example) a raffle with tickets, I know it is always done by other people but it is effective I think

I agree with Alfred ,Sean and Gino have had two very bright ideas which work for other clubs etc so i dont see why it would not work for us but i also agree totally with Stewart that we should not run before we walk and the first issue would have to be getting the club officially registered so that all of these ideas can be done legally and officially, this would have to be our priority as a club. Raffles,Bingos etc all work but there has to be members interested in getting all of these ideas into practice.

nice idea Sean but for this you need to be registered as a local charity and these type of events such as cake stalls flag days raffles etc have to be booked with govt. If i'm not mistaken the calender for next years charity events is comming out soon for clubs and charities to book their days etc

All well and good but realistically regardless what ever raising for charities we do, we need to be registered like stewart said so till then we can't really role the ball till everything is sorted and up to date :)

Ok the ball is rolling and this event is getting organised by all members,we are into the first steps so once officially submitted it will be announced.

The committee is meeting with the Enviromental officers tomorrow to discuss what we intend to organise on the East side,well the ball is rolling so prepare yourselves members cause we will need everyone for this one.

This morning we went to the site with the Enviromental officers and we can say they have given their consent on the event taking place,thats one more step in getting things sorted.
