How to change your vehicles filters

A regular filter change will literally save you thousands over the lifetime of your car. With the tough times of fuel prices ever increasing, help reduce your emissions and improve fuel economy but most importantly extending the life of your car’s engine by replacing your filters on a regular basis. Consequently saving yourself money long term.

How often should I change my cars filters?

Oil Filter & Oil Change;
As a rule the oil filter and oil should be replaced every 6000 miles or 6 months whichever occurs first, or when the engine oil is contaminated.

Main Service;
This includes oil filter and oil, air filter and fuel filter. A main service should take place every 12,000 miles or 12 months, again whichever occurs first.

What engine oil should I use?
In the UK Toyota recommend 10W-40 Semi-Synthetic, this is relevant to ALL Toyota 4x4’s including Hilux Pickups, Hilux Surfs and Land Cruisers. For all other makes and models please check your vehicles owner’s manual before replacing.
