I think they have destroyed what is the landrover defender - mixing it up with a rangerover sport? Horrible!!!

That's why I bought mine before they stop making it, I'm a purist. Sad to see the oldest produced vehicle being stopped .

You cant stop progression I suppose.  The Defender as most of us know are far from perfect, a little under-powered, leak in water, let in dust, dont have the greatest tolerance to 'red line limits' i.e you have to be bang on with your service schedule etc, etc, but remember (to a lesser extent) it's the same for all the rest, any model can break etc, but for me, it's a bit like being in a relationship - you have to work at it, and that is what creates some of the love, and I do love mine, but I'm also the first to swear at her when something goes wrong (the Land Rover that is!) and the car just recently performed brilliantly on some severe Morocco mountain terrain... the proof for the new comer will be in the pudding so to speak - will it still be out there (like mine) basically doing the business when it's 15-20 years old and more???
