• The Maroc Challenge was created in order that everyone may enjoy an off-road adventure in the North of Africa at the lowest possible cost. 

• Participants don’t require previous experience, just a 4x2 car or a 4x4 registered before 1996.

• The competition takes place between the 4^th and 9^th of December and will cover 2.000 kilometers across Morocco.

 

The Maroc Challenge is an unusual raid that aims to offer a low cost alternative for those who wish to experience an adventure in Morocco but till now have not done so for financial reasons. This competition does its best to eliminate that obstacle, reducing  costs to the minimum.

 

The sign-up fee is very economical and teams will pay only 240€ per vehicle (350€ for inscriptions after the 1^st of August), 60€ per team member and the ferry ticket plus petrol. Accommodation will not be a major cost as the teams may use campsites, although those who wish may stay in hotels at their own expense of course.

 

You don’t need a fantastic team to participate nor a powerful, souped up car, as the route the organizers have chosen is apt both for cars and 4x4’s. The only requisite is that they be registered before 1996. “In fact the older the cars the more fun the participants will have in this adventure” states Rui Cabaço, raid organizer.

 

Teams will be given a daily itinerary with a list of obligatory destinations they must reach and prove through photographs. Should one of the waypoints be missed or the time limit exceeded penalty points will be added, the winner being the team that finishes the raid with the least penalty points.

 

The raid will take place between the 4^th and 9^th of December, the inscription is now open and will end the 15^th of November or when the maximum amount of participants is reached.

SORRY GUYS BUT HIS CANNOT BE DONE IF YOU WANT TO JOIN US A MEMBER OF MAROCATLAS.THE REASON IS THAT I WAS SUBSCRIBED TO THIS GROUP A LONG TIME AGO AND I WAS GOING TO TALK ABOUT IT IN OUR FIRST MEETING BUT I WAS CALLED BY THE MAROC CHALLENGE ORGANISATION FROM PORTUGAL BY TELEPHONE THIS WEEK AND THEY ASKED ME IF WE COULD PLEASE NOT TO REGISTER ON THIS OCCASION BECAUSE THIS EVENT IS CONSIDERED FOR FIRST TIME OFFROADERS AND THAT WE WILL BE IN ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION AND WOULDN'T BE FAIR.

MAROC CHALLENGE ORGANISATION HAVE INVITED US TO ANOTHER EVENT IN THE FUTURE WERE WE WILL BE PARTICIPATING WITH MORE COMPETETIVE GROUPS.

Thats the spirit pero I had a shock when they called me,Rui himself talked with me and we talked about our solidarity raids and needed some help as how to go about it,which I did give him some info.He will have us informed for the next one.
