This is a short list of the basic requirements and equipment you need for going on off road trips.

First off your vehicle should be well serviced and checked for oil water and fluid levels before you set of you should have a spare wheel that is at the correct pressure and a good jack either an hydrulic or hi lift next you should have at least 2 tow straps and a couple of heavy duty 2-3 ton shackles and front and rear tow points if you havent got tow points get some fitted.

Carry a small box of spares dont carry to much as your only going for a day so put some spares in suitable for your car a spare fan belt and steering pump belt some steering fluid and brake fluid two track rod ends,a set of wheel bearings a master cylinder repair kit and a spare alternator some bulbs and a tube of grease that will pretty much all fit in a good ammo box that you can chuck in the boot.

and of course a small tool kit.

When you are traveling with other vehicles alway keep looking in your rear view mirror so you can keep in touch with the car behind you if you cant see him then slow down or stop and wait they may not be as fast or as experienced as you that way you will not get split up and if you have CB then let the leader no your slowing down.

If your on the trail all day you must take fluids to drink and something to eat and have regular stops and dont forget your camera phone that should be fully charged and in credit [not like mine] and a credit card,,,,you never know.

OK ENJOY YOUR DAYS OUT.

Just a small point when you travel in a group.

Remember to maintain your distance from the vehicle infront as it will be throwing up gravel which can destroy your front windscreen and always keep yourselves in caravan having one leader and someone on the rear who knows his way so as to not leave anyone behind because of a puncture or motor failure ;-)
