SOS 4x4 Response, Algemesi, Valencia.

We are so proud of our team who decided at last moments to get organized and deliver PPE to the volunteers and people in Valencia after the Dana devastation.
The team travelled over eight hours to reach Algemesi, a small town in the province of Valencia.
Joint together with the SOS 4x4 org, (who the Club is member for some years now) they got their permits from the authorities to be able to conduct their assistance in what they can in the area.
They spend 5 days doing a great job in the area, providing firstly the PPE.
On the 2nd day they experienced the devastation in full, clearing damaged vehicles in mud flooded garages, a hell of a job which they did with a full spirit supported by the applause and cheers of the neighbours. Not everyone is ready to experience this kind of situations our team has put themselves through, deep respect to both!
The team thanks everyone in Algemesi for their great support towards them.
They were even invited to their houses for lunch.
The next day they continued towing and pulling out vehicles from the flooded garages, but this time they where joint by two other 4wd vehicles from Barcelona and Tarragona.
Another exhausting day but the teamwork was a great success!
On day 4 the team purchased Microwaves, thanks to the donations done in Gibraltar.
Some families had been for 13 days without being able to provide a warm meal to their children, the Microwaves came like a blessing to the families that they had promised to provide them with.
On the day the team met up with the EV Foundation charity Org from Gibraltar, it was a great lift of spirit for them to get together, they are really making a difference too with their volunteers.
On day 5, after having given a good clean-up to the Beast, the team went shopping for clean materials, they filled up once again their trailer with different products, again all this was possible thanks to the great contributions in donations from Gibraltar.
The team visited those more in need, which they had got to know throughout their days there and provided them with a selection of products to help them out hygienely.
After the team distributed all they had in the trailer and all the emotional goodbyes from the people of Algemesi, the team started their journey back home.
The team has been tracked during their 5 days in Algemesi and all their way back, they were given a most deserved welcome from our authorities at the border when they arrived, and from all of us in Gibraltar.
Justin & Karl, you have made Us All Proud in Gibraltar!
