Riff Mountains

Bandit country - I came head to head with about 5 young men on the trail just before here, a couple jumped out the car demanding I reversed back. I had a cliff face an inch to my left and a plantation over a small ledge to my right. The trail was deeply rutted, a complete nightmare to reverse on. As I touched the rear end of the Land Rover into the cliff face, whilst attempting to reverse as requested, they screamed to stop (I assumed - they spoke in Berber / Arabic, but we were all synched into the body language / international human comms thing - which you do in these situations...) Anyway, they wanted to reverse the Rover for me and one lad seemed personally aggreived at my clear refusal - so after a few moments of stale mate they reveresed their truck back a hundred meters or so untill I could manouvere the Rover up a steep bank to let them pass (on their track) - like every other encounter on this trip in Morocco, it ended in hand shakes and best wishes.
