Land Rover Defender 110 - 1998 300TDI - Beach wild camp at foot of Riff mountains.

Wild camp on the beach - I had the Moroccan Army turn up before dark, wanting to move me on. They sort of told me I should'nt be there (they did'nt speak English or Spanish and my school day French was pretty crap) I think the problem was, this beach at the foot of the Riff Mountains was in a drug smuggling area and they were concerned for my safety... which just before dark (with the prospect of breaking and then resetting up camp) was more than what I was. Like every other Moroccan I met on this lone trip, they were very friendly and allowed me to stay put. I slept with a fire extinguisher as a area weapon and a borrowed heavy duty wheel brace as my close quarter battle... nothing happened, though I must admit I slept with one eye open - hmmm....
