Event Description

This year we will be having our 31st Solidarity Raid on the month of May. This change is due to be able to adventure ourselves into the Grand Atlas and explore new tracks for many of us with a better weather than on month of November.

We will be having some mountain camps as we visit the N'kob and Saghro regions on the South face of the Anti Atlas enjoying the spectacular mountains formations and valleys.

On this raid we will be having a two days course of "Dunes Navigation" in Merzouga, meaning we will be spending more days in the region and visit some new locations for many of you coming.

As our raid states, we will be visiting our School Projects and other new ones we have planned to visit to help in whatever we can.

Comment by Alfred Balban yesterday: We are looking for sponsorship for our next project which we got to visit on our last pass through ER-Rich.

This is an orphanage who has started to work in the region for the better of the children.

We where shown the establishment and everything is new and ready to get active.

Though we noticed that the shower rooms did not have compartments.

So we are hoping to be able to raise the funds to have them separate the showers for privacy to the children.

All help is welcomed to make this a safe place for the children.

Comment by Marocatlasgib4x4 Club on Thursday: Stage 7, Ouzina - Tadaout - Takojt. 87.5 km.

From Ouzina we will be visiting the Rupestre Rock Paintings in the mountain tracks.

We will visit the Filon Mines, were they extract lots of different minerals which are used for traditional jewelry.

We will reach the fossil mountain of Tadaout.

We will continue on tracks passing by the Lac Dayet Srij, were we will be able to see the Flamingoes in their splendor.

From there we will continue to our base for 3 nights at Kasbah Takojt were we will enjoy the hospitality of our dearest friend Mobarek.

From Tazzarine stage 6 will be an adventure as we will be visiting new areas on our way to Marabout were we will stop for lunch. Then continue to the Ouzina dunes where we will set camp and enjoy the desert night sky, this depending there are no sand storms, if so we will continue to Porte de Ouzina for the night.

During this stage we will be visiting two schools to provide them with stationary for the children.

From Zagora we will be doing a new track through part of yet not seen of the Palmerie and entering a gorge with spectacular views which will lead us to Camp Serdrar in Tazzarine were we will use their traditional Khaimah's to sleep for the night and enjoy their hospitality.

On our stage 4 we will enter the spectacular mountains from N'kob passing through Agdez to reach the Palmerie Valley to Zagora were we will stay at our base, Chez Ali.

It will be a short run but with many stops to visit some old Kasbahs and more.
