Morocco Earthquake Response!

Our response team will be once again put to action for the disaster occurred in Morocco the past 8/9/23.

Coincidently our plans on our 29th Solidarity Raid for the first 4 stages was very near and through the seismic areas. So we have decided to change plans and spend a few days in the area to support the remote villages in need.

For this we have joint forces with the Muslim Youth of Gibraltar. Who have created a Justgiving Fund which is getting a great support thanks to our Community and Club sponsors. All funds will be for the needed.

All volunteers do this on their own time and expenses, we would like to thank them for their support.

We are in contact with friends who are working in the area, here we have a list of their needs and asking for our collaboration.

As part of the earthquake which occurred in Marrakech and surrounding areas, and which was very severe especially in the Al Haouz area.
This phenomenon has caused several deaths and injuries, homeless people in need of urgent help.
This is why we thought of organizing a small action in favor of the people of the My Brahim zone and we will need your collaboration, either donations of money or in kind, here is the list of elements which we will have need :

1000 bottles of water.
1000 Juice
1000 Madlene / salty biscuits.
1000 cans of tuna
1000 Eggs
1000 Breads
1000 Cheeses
1000 milks (UHT)
1000 covers
1000 rugs

1000 tents ⛺️
Baby diapers whenever possible.

Clothes and shoes li andkoum for sghar-kbar- woman-man, it is cold in these areas so they really need these elements.

This will be our 2nd stage of our raid but our first stage into the zero zone of the disaster. We will maintain on the main road but divert onto the tracks that will lead us to the remote villages where we will do our part for humanitarian work.

We will continue passing through the mayor disaster areas like Asni & Moulay Brahim, again we will be entering the tracks to get to the affected villages to deliver our humanitarian help.

On Sunday the 11th of February our team met with the Muslim Youth of Gibraltar Association at a rural village in Tasskour, high Atlas, to be present for the handing of 5 laptops for the children to get to know the basics of IT. A great venture initiated by a young teacher who is teaching the Tamazigh children the English language.
