Hi Guys,

Got my new tyres!! Tuggy really came through for me and I cant recomend him enough. I got (5) Bfg MT's (new style) and (5) 16" x 7" steel wheels with probably -20 offset (6 lug toyota hard to find) All fitted. All this, including delivery, plus the use of tuggy's driveway and his jacks cost me 1070.00 pound and came from UK in 4-5 days. Which is a great deal. Tugs has more gear on his site and if you don't see it there just ask cause he can still probably get it.

Now to get these beauties on I've done a 5cm bodylift taken plastic liner from inside the ach out, and cut away as much as 10mm of body weld in places(scary!). She's scrubbing a bit still when I brake or turn going downhill. I was planning on an Ironman lift kit but it's about 800 euro!! So maybe I'll just change the springs for now, so I can get back on the trail. Ive heard I can fit Landcruiser 120 series front springs up front and landcruiser 80 front springs on the rear of mine and get a lift. Does anyone have a set of 120 series front springs I could try out? As Im only scrubbing up front.

Tugs has really done a good deal with you my friend,your Toyota really looks great with its new shoes.

For as the springs I'am sorry but can't help you there,used to have my old spring as I fitted bigger ones to mine but I got rid of them some time ago.

If you want to lift the car more than what you already have you need to start looking at wheel spacers as well otherwise it will become more unstable...i would fit the spacers on the suspension as Stewart sugested which you can get homemade and look for wheel spacers on ebay

Thanks for all the ideas everybody. I was thinking of coil spacers but I also know that the suspension that I have on at the moment will need replacing soon. I'm going to have to beg steal or borrow to get the full kit I think. I just don't want to have to keep taking it all apart every something else goes wrong. I'm only planning on a 40-50mm lift nothing drastic and its which leaves me about an inch short of what the maximum is for this sort of IFS, But I'm still fitting diff drop bolts just in case it's only a tener so can't hurt. Also will be keeping a close eye on those brake lines If I need to I'll put in extended braided steel ones. But out of curiosity has anyone had selina make up some coil spacers? If so what did they charge?

adam,,,glad you like your wheels and tyres BFG MT2,s are petty dam good and you should get good wear out of them,,,,

Due to recent expenditure I'm on the hunt for a set of second hand mud tyres and rims for a discovery TD5. Maybe you could point me in the right direction.

tyrone you wont get second hand muds that will be any good,,and TD5 rims aint floating about either,,,,PM me with your budget and i will look for something for you pretty sure we can sort you out,,,,, what rims have you got on already do you want rims as a second set could you use your rims and get a good 80% off road 20% road tyre lots of them about remoulds are cheap and good as an option is it your everyday ride,do you do a lot of miles,,,you can get hub converters so you can fit disco rims there more available,,,plenty of options just your budget,s going to determine what you want,,,,,,,tug.

I have a budget of approx £300 and I would prefer a separate set of mud tyres with rims. Stuart told me about a guy he knows that has a set of BFG mud +rims for approx 500 euro which is a bit steep for me at the minute. Maybe its a question holding on until i have a bigger budget.
